Cake Bake Project with CIE 8th Graders

The cake Bake project was the first term Math project for the 8th graders to promote their expertise in 'Measurement and Money in real life'. This was also a way to enhance their business and finance skills on top of the fun with creativity and talent. The project was a huge a success. The students were very excited and showed great teamwork.
Students worked on this project for about a month. The first step was to understand the process of finalizing the recipe that would attract buyers, getting the best price for the ingredient and packing the items. The next step was to have a bake sale to sell their items strategizing a plan to maximize their profits. The students decorated their table with advertisements, attractive price chart and last but not the least the yummy baked goods. It was wonderful to see budding entrepreneurs handling their buyers, coming up with strategies to attract them and showing responsibility in managing their money. The final step was to present their overall experience on the project along with data such as cost price, selling price, profit/loss, profit to name a few.
The whole process was a truly learning experience.
