A hands-on activity was conducted with
8th graders (CIE) to understand that the sum of the angles of a triangle is 180
degrees. Students were given cut outs of a triangle. They were asked to label
the angles. They then tore off the corners and placed the torn pieces in a
vertical line such that the vertices met. This was the 'aha' moment where the
students saw that the three angles put together aligns with a line and forms
180 degrees.
