WORKSHOP ON TICKER TIMER EQUIPMENT!!

A Science workshop was conducted by Ms. Molly Biju for the CIE teachers. In the workshop, Ms. Molly Biju guided the participating teachers on making an effective lesson plan and importance of activity based teaching in Science. Also, there was a session on Lab experiments and its importance.

Mr. Biju Baby, the Vice Principal of the International Curriculum, has taken the teachers through a Lab Experiments session making use of state of the art Electronic Equipment. He has introduced the teachers to the Ticker Timer Equipment and its use in the lab to determine the speed of an object. It can also be used to determine the acceleration of a body having uniform acceleration. The same concept (Ticker Timer) can be used to determine the speed of a truck with leaking oil / water based on the traces left behind by it. The other sensor that was introduced was the Force Sensor, which can be used to determine the force exerted by an object on another. Among other sensors were the Motion sensor, Microphone and photo gate. The session was very informative and added value to the existing knowledge of teachers.

The workshop was a good experience and it definitely proved useful for the participating teachers. The teachers felt the session to be extremely knowledgeable and productive. They also mentioned that the classes can be more student oriented with the use of such equipment. The session also saw the participation of the Bangalore Campus teachers over Video conference.
