Tuning in to the new unit of inquiry:
Living Things, Grade VI students had an exciting experience when they had
Nature Walk in the school campus and could study plants of various types grown
in the Shade and the in the Sunlight. They discussed the factors responsible
for the changes in growth and in texture as well as colour of the leaves. The
curiosity led them in finding out the importance of Photosynthesis and Carbon
cycle. Learning more about the systems of plants was all the more interesting
when students got plants like hibiscus and dissected it to have their hands on
practice. Much is in store now with many experiments to be conducted during the
latter part of inquiry.
