INTRODUCING “OAKLIT”

THE IDEA: The premise of “Oak Lit” is to encourage students throughout CIE to write. Writing is a fantastic way to express thoughts, change viewpoints, and inform others. We believe that all students have untapped writing potential that is just waiting to be discovered!

THE OAKLIT TEAM:

THE PROCESS:  Students from the 7-10 C.I.E. classes will send us ANY piece of their writing. Submissions can range from short stories and poems, to research papers and fictional advertisements.  All students will receive credit for their writing (unless they choose not to), in which case his/her name will remain anonymous.  The submissions will then be placed online for the world to see.

Your submissions will only be seen by us, and remain confidential within the group.

RULES: As in all projects, some rules MUST be followed….

1.      All writing must be original. PLAGIARISM IS NOT TOLERATED.

2.      Writing must be school appropriate.

3.      Submissions must be primarily in English.

4.      Accompanying artwork is allowed, as long as a write-up is given.

5.      Submissions may only be from grades 7-10 C.I.E.

DISCLAIMER: The management team of “Oak Lit” reserves the right to edit any submissions received in any way. The views represented on the “Oak Lit” website do not represent the views of the management team as a whole or Oakridge International School Newton Campus.

CONCLUSION:  We want this to be a thrilling project for all students. Feel free to send us suggestions (or approach any of us with questions), and most importantly have fun writing. We’re looking forward to your submissions!!!
