Students of Grade VI had the opportunity to
attend a guest talk on Past
Civilizations by Ms. Rachna Lodaya, a qualified Brahmi script trainer who
is currently pursuing Ph.D. in Archaeology. The speaker laid emphasis on
sources of History, authenticity, evaluation and collection of data and
processes involved in excavating things of the past. The interrelation of
Archaeology with other streams such as, Geology, Zoology, Biology,
Anthropology, etc. aroused much interest and curiosity among the students.
They enquired many questions pertaining
to the topic as to how do we know the
excavated object is how old or to which time period they belong to, how do we
preserve them and so on and were
satisfied when their doubts were clarified.
