Chocolates not Blackies

My friend had two nieces. They are dark skinned. They grew up in Delhi. Their mother used to take them to the park. Some fair girls used to call these little girls ‘Kalu, Kalu’ meaning blacks. The children would get very upset.
They told this to a kind old lady .She said, “Oho, you are not kalu, you are chocolates.” That changed the whole attitude of the children. They grew up as well balanced excellent children. God has created us the way we are, with a purpose. Don’t worry about it. Learn to love yourself. If you think you are black, you grow up as a black. If you think you are a chocolate you grow up a chocolate. It is all in the attitude.
