Treasure Fest – 2013



The Cultural Extravaganza Day 1

The literary evens of Treasure Fest began on a high note with the exciting & enthusiastic participants bustling around. Competitions such as Declamation, Extempore and Eloquence as well as the Debate competitions brought out the best in the globally aware participants and encouraged some out-of-the-box thinking.
The creativity of participants was showcased in the Stories Come Alive Event, which included folk tale theater and students bringing vibrancy with their colorful costumes and dialogues. The Mad Ads competition also gave participant tremendous scope to exercise their innovative skills.
The entire events of Treasure Fest were captured all around the Oakridge Campus, in the Photography and Short Film making competitions as well.
All in all, it was a great start for the literary event component of Treasure Fest 2013.
Performing Arts
If a man is the best creation of God, then Music is the best creation of Man! The first day of Oakridge Treasure Fest had a melodious beginning. “Brindgaan” – is the eastern category in group singing; kick-started the cultural events where the main themes were patriotism, friendship and inspiration. “Surtaal” was a union of melodious and soothing music while “Rock On” on the contrary, was a blend of electrifying and foot tapping tunes.
Harmony of expressions
Harmony of expressions, one of the many events of Treasure Fest 2013 was a vibrant celebration of colors. It provided students with the opportunity to display their artistic talent in creative ways like Face-Painting, Origami, Fabric Painting and Jewellery Designing. The Flower arrangement competition, featured gorgeous carnations, peonies, daisies and birds' of paradise, , , Most artwork in the Fabric, Face & Pot- Painting Competitions were centered around a particular theme. These ranged from "save the earth" to "be you" and "educate women". The competition, Best out of Waste was an apt showcase of the creativity of the participants.
